What is My Therapeutic Approach?

My approach to working with clients involves a recipe of “Science, Art and Love”:

 

Science: I bring in effective, evidence-based therapies and modalities to each counselling session

 

Art: No two clients are alike… so I don’t work in the exact same way with each one. I artfully connect with each client in a personalized way and tap into my creativity to come up with unique ways to inspire positive change that is authentic for them

Love: Bringing out the best in my clients and helping them make positive things happen in their lives is me being “on-purpose”. I believe in my clients and I am in their corner with encouragement and support

THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES and MODALITIES

 

EMDR (EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION and REPROCESSING):

is a comprehensive therapeutic approach that helps to heal traumas, life-shaping events and negative beliefs that are currently interfering with a person’s ability to function in an adaptive, healthy, happy manner.

CBT (COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL THERAPY):

is about challenging negative thought and behavior patterns that are behind people’s difficulties in life to bring about positive changes in how they feel.

SOMATIC THERAPY:

is a form of body-centered therapy that looks at the connection of the mind and body to help with healing and shifting negativity.

ATTACHMENT-BASED COUNSELLING:

is about using the understanding of earlier attachment influences and focusing on emotional regulation in the context of interpersonal and relationship experiences to enhance relationship with self and others.

SOLUTION-FOCUSED BRIEF THERAPY:

involves focusing on a person’s present and future circumstances to find solutions in goal and action-oriented ways.

HAPPINESS COACHING & POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY APPROACHES:

is about bringing out the best in clients to help them lead meaningful and fulfilling lives and enhance their experiences of love, work and play.
